Korean Variety Show Obsession

I have been a Korean drama fan. Last month, I was watching Kim Tae-Hee's latest project the newly-finished Jang Ok Jung: Live by Love, it is about the life of Jang Hui-Bin one of the most beautiful women in the Joseon Dynasty and became the famous concubine. While browsing SBS like page in Facebook to check some spoilers, I read some Facebook readers about Running Man. I heard the name of the show, and my sister mentioned that her favorite Korean boyband Big Bang were among the guest. So I watched the Big Bang episode of Running Man on YouTube, and the show was so fun. I decided to watched all the episodes starting from the pilot.

Currently I am now on the 88th episode. Every episode never fails me to laugh, their pranks are funny!

It is also one of my bucketlist to be a guest of this show.

Hanging Coffins at Echo Valley Park

After witnessing the amazing sunrise at Kiltepan Peak, we went straight to the famous hanging coffins. We passed by the modern cemetery, and there is a "grave" with a glass where you can peek the dead(?) (I did not dare to peek, because I might awake the dead) before reaching the old coffins. It was a long but a nice walk going to the coffins.

Walk in the park.

Modern cemetery

I think it was called Echo Valley because we try to scream since it is called "Echo Valley", our voice echoed and my little cousins had fun. As we almost reached the coffins we have to hike downhill. and wahlaaaa. Amazeballs. the famous hanging coffins. Hanging coffins are not only seen in Echo Valley but in also other parts of Sagada, some are deep below the where the hanging coffins in the photo that was covered by the big branches of trees surrounding it.

Hanging the coffins were the tradition practice of the people in Sagada. It is still a practice today, there are some Sagada natives requested that their dead body will be hanged and not be placed and buried in the "modern" cemetery.

Sunrise in Sagada

The road going to Sagada is a "no joke" for some but for me it was fine, I disregard the elevation and how crooked the road was as long as I did not felt dizzy during the travel. We arrived in Sagada almost 7pm from Baguio City. I thought Sagada is just an hour away from Baguio hehehehe based from our trusted GPS its estimated travel duration is 5hrs.

Our first day was packed with so much activities. Sunrise watching is the first leg of our Sagada adventure. We were up 5:00 am then when straight to Kiltepan Peak to catch the beautiful sunrise, my very first experience. Amazing to be on top of the clouds and witness the one of God's creation. As Mr. Sun is up, below the peak there are beautiful terraces.

At the same time, we had our breakfast in order for us to go to our next location.

From Baguio to Sagada

Before the vacation, my family had a meeting on where will we visit. My father and aunt they wanted to visit Sagada. In my thought, Sagada ahhh ok and I was worried if the road was good, safe. I imagined the road would be like from the show World's Dangerous Roads.

We only spent a day and one night in Baguio. We arrived at Baguio around 6pm, and on the next day we went to the tourist spots in the city then travel to Sagada via Halsema Highway in the afternoon. I can not sleep during road trips and going to places during the first time of my visit because I want to see the places before reaching the destination. During the travel the thought of worrying what the road might be like was gone. While we were in Burnham Park we asked the boat operator about the road going to Sagada and was kind to share some of the tourist we can found. We were assured that the road going there was good. And it was true.

Halsema Highway is one of the craziest road I've travel. Lots of blind curves, subida but it has a breathtaking view and the government did a great job on improving the highway (the people's money). I was not scared seeing the "bakilid" beside the road because I trust my cousin driver.

Backpacking

Hello everyone! Last week, I was on a tour/vacation around the Philippines with my family. We aboard on a plane to Clark and traveled home by land. My uncle and cousin traveled to Luzon first by land, and they fetch us at the airport.

Before the trip, I was tasked to search and book for transient homes, hotel, and etc. It was challenging because it is hard to look for cheaper and affordable places on the internet.

It was a fun, exciting, tiring, and memorable experience I had. I'll be blogging entries about the places we visit.

This entry is about backpacking. Backpacking was one of my major problem because I do not have the idea when will back.

This video really helps and gives my ideas:

  • Only bring the things that are necessary.
  • Instead of a soap bar, bring a body wash.
  • Shampoo bottle ---> tingi tingi. OR If not and you do not want your toiletries bag to be "soapy", make sure to clean the bottle using a dry tissue or cloth, and make sure you closed the lid is properly closed.
  • Pants --> Leggings/Jeggings
  • Footwear that can be washed (crocs, and etc). it depends on your trip
  • Bags must be waterproof.
  • Cellophane bags for your laundry. if there is time have time to do laundry during your trip.
  • Save money during the trip.
  • Prepare an itinerary. Do some research about the places you will be going to visit.
  • Have a travel pack checklist.
  • Bring a map or GPS.
  • Always be alert.
  • Bring a travel pillow. (so useful)

will add some tips... later. xo

Quote from Lord Baelish

Quote from HBO's TV series the Game of Thrones:

"Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods...illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is. But they'll never know this. Not until it's too late."

KitchenAid Stand Mixer

As a kid, I grew up eating fresh baked bread from my grandmother. Surrounded with baking materials, cup measurements, spoon measurements, spatula, and etc. I watched my grandmother, mother, and aunt baked pastries. For me a kitchen will only be called kitchen if there is a KitchenAid Mixer. My grandmother has two KitchenAid Mixer, we borrowed one  (me and sisters thought it was my mother's).

We love baking using this heavy duty mixer.

Browsing in KitchenAid's website and their Facebook like page I found this photo!!

I want to have my own KitchenAid Mixer with Pasta kit accessories.

Lots of colors to choose!

Zoobic Safari

Late post.

This Zoobic Safari trip was not part of our itinerary in Subic, only Ocean Adventure and shopping at Duty Free shops. We arrived early from Quezon City, had breakfast and our folks decided to stopped by Zoobic. I really thought that this place was boring because of the thought that we have these in Davao but seeing the tiger in their tarpaulins made me thought "ooyy this is going to be fun".

While waiting for our turn to be guided, we were entertained (?) with this white Tiger. They really have a weird smell. I was a bit scared. hihi

Beautiful but scary

These people who was with us during tour were also the people we met at Ocean Adventure. #AlamNa

met this fellow for the first time.

hello

It also includes a safari with the Tigers. This was part of the tour BUT we have to pay Php 300 for the raw chicken in order Richard Parker's will come close to the jeepney and see the upclose.

BABOY!! CUTE!!
Zoobic Safari is a huge place. One of the reasons I love Subic because of it's nature, so much trees for me is <3. Surrounded with trees and bunkers. I was really amazed in this bunkers that the Americans built, we went inside and it was cold inside (I am not thinking about paranormal activity but it might be possible). It is their "the Hobbit version" and it gave me an idea that this kind of house would be cool.

Inside this bunker is a collection of bones, skins of Tigers and other animal. No haunted house drama inside.hehehe

Bunker no. 2112

i love Subic because of them.
I always remind my friends while planning for a vacation be sure to check online discount purchases. Zoobic has discount purchases online but my aunt did not avail.

If you are in Subic with your friends and family be sure to visit them.

I am not an endorser or is not paid to made this. I really had a great time there. =)

Manila Ocean Park

I should have made an entry about my last year's trip with my little cousins to the park last year. So here it is sorry for the late post.

October 2012, I traveled again with my relatives to Manila (Davao - Clark flight) but that trip was challenging because my cousins is with us. It is their first time to board on an airplane, to travel to Manila, and as an adult you always have to do "bantay" see them. They do not have any idea how worst is the traffic there compared here in Davao. Dropped our stuffs at Quezon City then went to Mall of Asia, sounds crazy there are malls near in my relative house (SM North Edsa and TriNoMa) but we prefer at MOA for the kids. They are so funny when arrived because they are shy to speak Tagalog, a week before our trip I joked that they should practice their Tagalog. It is a partly difficult for them to easily adjust because while on our trip, we were in the middle of traffic at C5 one of kids want to pee, we just told them we can not park somewhere because it is bawal and they have to patiently wait.

happy and excited kids

My aunt purchase our Manila Ocean Park tickets online via of MetroDeal. I just know at that time that there are there are online discount purchases available online. We got the ticket where we could watch an animal show, meet the penguins, oceanarium, jelly fishes, mini-jungle, snowland, and the dancing fountain.

Music Video: Between Us by Aswefall

This Air France piscine television advertisement is one of favorite ads. The advertisement has its perfect "portrayal" of showing how relaxing would your travel be when you are aboard with Air France. It makes it more beautiful because of the relaxing song from Aswefall.

This is the advertisement, this was one of the advertisement that I had always waited on CNN. hihihi

Music Video: The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice

This song is part of my "Emo-lullaby" iPod playlist. I love Damien Rice, Bon Iver's music genre, pure voice, string instrument, and no noise.

I hope Damien Rice will have an upcoming album, super like his song from his albums.

Post NY and fantards

Belated happy new year! Obviously I am going lazy writing an entry. This year, I am determined to loss weight and going to gym in the afternoon and joined boxing lessons. I am sick for the past two weeks and going back tomorrow. All I can do right now in the office is watch Philippine teleseryes and I am impressed with the fast kaganapans and no dragging stories. PHR Paraiso, Ina Kapatid Anak, and Be Careful with My Heart are the dramas I have been watching right now.

I have a twitter account and I followed some Philippine celebrities. In checking my twitter I use my iPod Touch 1st generation and my personal computer. Earlier I was so bored, I checked one of the celebrities twitter account using my iPod and checked his tweet mentions. And boom laughing some immature tweets addressing to the celebrity, nanluod sila sa ilang idol kay naa daw secret girlfriend and arguing with co-fans from fans club kay ang ilang idol naa link sa iyang partner. They say that it is part of the act. There are really some fans who can not fathom between real and reel. I can be a diehard fan on someone but not in the point where I will not like him/her just because your idol did not say anything about personal issues. Hello! we are a fan because we adore their craft, advocacy, talent, skills. Fans should give privacy to their idol dili tanan informations knows niyo. These people should be mature enough, sa sobra ka fan murag wala na silay boundary. Murag man sad makipagpatayan kung naa silay info na wala sila kabalo.

Gina vent out lang nako ang akong napansin sa mga fans lately kay I really find it a bobo attitude towards sa mga public figure tao naman sad sila. Social network talaga ohh...
